Hi, my name is Mars!

 

I am a freelance artist based in Michigan. My work is influenced by the natural world, anatomy, and spiritual themes.

​

I have a BFA in Medical Illustration from Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, MI. After graduation, I had a unique opportunity to work as a Human Prosector for MSU's cadaver lab at the Secchia Center in GR. During this time, I learned and performed various dissections on cadavers that were used as a learning resource for incoming medical students. I also sketched these dissections in my free time, gaining valuable visual experience of the human body.

As an artist, I'm fascinated by how things work and operate. I find inspiration in the characteristics of nature, spirituality, and all narratives that support the LGBTQIA community and Hispanic culture. Some of my favorite subjects to draw are animals, crystals, and portraits. I've utilized my freelance work for a variety of purposes, including personal gifts, pet portraits, education, coloring books, podcast art, tattoo design, social media, and mural art.

When I'm not working on art, I love to experiment with new hobbies, create DIY projects, build cool houses in Sims 4, and almost always spend time with my fiance and our cats.
